This vertical campus is designed on the top eight (8) floors of the newly constructed Calgary City Centre office tower to consolidate Inter Pipeline Ltd.’s staff from two locations into one. The new workplace standards encourage socializing, collaboration and interaction resulting in productivity gains in an environment designed to be low maintenance and flexible.
The re-imagined workplace of this pipeline company includes a shared zone on every floor to provide meeting, collaborative and social spaces for staff & visitors and is branded in the energetic red tones of the company logo. Alternate work settings, training and social gatherings, important components of the new open plan work environment, are further supported by a shared coffee bar lounge space and conference facility.
Pengrowth’s vision for their new office premises was “a reinvention of a traditional design approach”. They requested design solutions that would defer to an “old world” style while incorporating the needs of a contemporary workforce, reflecting a progressive and innovative company.

MartensGroup transformed an under-utilized corporate auditorium, dated meeting rooms, and wasted storage space, into a dynamic conference facility for a major energy corporation. The existing space hadn’t been renovated in almost three decades and required new audio visual technology, lounges and meeting rooms.
Murphy Oil, challenged with new business opportunities, desired a work environment that would assist with the cultural changes that would occur as they grew. The universal plan would readily support organizational change and the cafes and informal meeting spaces encourage social interaction and mentoring.
The nine floors of new office premises in Jamieson Place were designed to meet ARC Resources Ltd.’s desire to create a workplace that supports employee work/life balance. The cafes, lounges, informal and formal meeting areas encourage casual encounters, interaction, innovation and relaxation. The urban contemporary architecture is welcoming and comfortable – attracting every generation of worker.

PennWest’s rapid growth and subsequent leasing of both towers of PennWest Plaza provided an opportunity to create a corporate facility based on new workplace standards and footprinted floors for ease of future re-stacking. The contemporary space, balanced with natural materials, also includes a conference and training centre, large staff café with outdoor patio, a fitness facility and a daycare.

MartensGroup designed and developed 14 new floors of office premises and renovated the 6 existing floors to coordinate with the new floors, following a major acquisition by Devon Canada Corporation. The work environment includes a combination of closed office and team based open plan work environments.
This fitness centre is an energetic space reflecting the culture and character of the Devon’s office environment while incorporating the branding of “The Well’, the fitness facilities created for their US offices. In addition to shower & locker rooms, a group exercise room, a yoga studio, spin room and a large cardio and weights equipment area, the facility also includes consultation rooms for trainers, massage room and administrative offices.
Connacher Oil & Gas requested a timeless, yet contemporary, closed office environment that would respond readily to business changes over their lease period, promote collaboration, and provide connectivity between three business units spread over three floors in a newly constructed office tower in downtown Calgary.
